Old postcards Ivano-Frankivsk

This section collects view postcards of Ivano-Frankivsk through 1991 — sets from 1978 and 1987. The photographs show the Prykarpattia centre, squares, museums and memorials of the late Soviet period.

The 1978 set includes the V.I. Lenin monument, the A. Mickiewicz monument, a monument for the 25th anniversary of the city’s liberation, a mass grave of Soviet Army soldiers, the regional local-lore museum, the Artists’ House, the main post office, the Soviet Trade technical school, the athletics hall and the Kosmos cinema.

The 1987 series adds the railway station and airport, Halytska Square and Stalingrad Square, Sovetskaya, Komarova and Dzerzhinsky Streets, the I.Ya. Franko Music and Drama Theatre, the pedagogical institute with the T.G. Shevchenko monument, the oil and gas institute, the political education house, the local-lore museum, the city lake, Stefanyk Embankment and a memorial complex.
