Historical note

The Moldavian drama theatre building on Ștefan cel Mare Boulevard was completed in 1959. In 1960 the theatre was named after A.S. Pushkin and became one of the republic’s principal stages in the Soviet period.

Present day

The theatre still operates at the same address on Ștefan cel Mare Boulevard in central Chișinău. The building remains a familiar landmark of the city’s cultural quarter.
