Historical note
School No. 6 in Zhytomyr traces its history back to the pre-revolutionary era, but the three-story building shown in the photo was constructed during the Soviet period to expand the educational facilities. The school was named after the writer Vladimir Galaktionovich Korolenko, a native of Zhytomyr, during the Soviet era, when his monument-bust was also erected in front of the main entrance.
Present day
Currently, the educational institution operates as Lyceum No. 6 named after V. G. Korolenko of the Zhytomyr City Council. The school building has preserved its architectural forms, the monument-bust to the writer remains in front of it, and the surrounding area is well-maintained.
