What is shown on the postcard

The image shows the multi-story administrative and office building of the Gomselmash factory with a large sign on the roof. In the foreground, a red-and-white self-propelled forage harvester KSK-100 is parked. A PAZ-672 passenger bus is visible on the right. Pedestrians walk on the paved area, and a red propaganda banner dedicated to the 25th Congress of the CPSU is mounted on the building’s facade.

Historical note

Founded in 1930, the Gomselmash production association became the largest manufacturer of forage harvesting equipment in the USSR by the late 1970s. In 1977, the mass production of the highly efficient KSK-100 self-propelled harvester began, which remained the enterprise’s flagship model for decades.

Present day

Today, the Gomselmash holding continues to operate as one of the largest manufacturers of agricultural machinery in the CIS. The administrative building on Kosmonavtov Avenue has preserved its original architectural appearance with minor modernizations.
