A 1974 Soviet postcard: 28 June Street and the city hall building in Chișinău.
What is shown on the postcard
The image shows a street perspective with a paved roadway, trees along the sidewalk, and the historic city hall with its distinctive clock tower. Cars and pedestrians are visible on the street.
Historical note
Chișinău City Hall (former duma building) was erected in the late 19th — early 20th century; the clock tower is a familiar element of the central skyline. In the Soviet period the adjoining artery was named 28 June Street; the 1974 postcard records that toponym.
Present day
The city hall remains on its historic site; the adjoining street is now 31 August 1989 Street. The clock tower is still one of central Chișinău’s landmarks.
