Historical note

Chișinău City Hall (former duma building) was erected in the late 19th — early 20th century; the clock tower is a familiar element of the central skyline. In the Soviet period the adjoining artery was named 28 June Street; the 1974 postcard records that toponym.

Present day

The city hall remains on its historic site; the adjoining street is now 31 August 1989 Street. The clock tower is still one of central Chișinău’s landmarks.
