Historical note
The M.I. Glinka Concert Hall was constructed in the post-war period, during the 1950s, on the site of the Opera House building destroyed during the Great Patriotic War. The project was developed by the architectural bureau led by L.A. Yakovich. The hall opened its doors in 1953 and has since become one of Zaporizhzhia’s primary concert venues, named in honor of the Russian composer Mikhail Ivanovich Glinka.
Present day
Today, the M.I. Glinka Concert Hall, also known as the Zaporizhzhia Regional Philharmonic, continues to actively function as the leading cultural center of the region. The building has retained its original architectural appearance and remains an important element of the historic Sobornyi Avenue development. Concerts, festivals, and other cultural events are regularly held here.
