What is shown on the postcard

The postcard shows the facade of the General Resort Balneological Clinic building, rendered in the style of Soviet modernism. Notable features include a distinctive arched roof over the central section, wide horizontal rows of glazing, and vertical decorative elements on the side facades. In front of the building, a well-maintained garden features a rose bed, lush greenery, and paved pathways. Three women are visible walking along one of the paths.

Historical note

The General Resort Balneological Clinic was designed and constructed in Yevpatoria in the early 1980s, officially opening in 1984. Its establishment was part of the large-scale development of Yevpatoria as an all-union resort for both children and adults, specializing in mud and water therapy. The clinic was intended to utilize the unique natural resources of the region – Saki therapeutic muds and mineral waters – for the health and recovery of vacationers.

Present day

Currently, the building continues to function as Yevpatoria’s primary balneological center, often referred to as the Yevpatoria Balneological Clinic or Mud Bath. It maintains its original purpose, offering a wide range of procedures based on the healing muds of Lake Moinaky and local mineral springs. The building has undergone partial renovation, but its architectural appearance largely remains recognizable.
