What is shown on the postcard

The left side of the postcard depicts the facade of Yevpatoria Railway Station, constructed in the Stalinist Empire style. Characteristic arched entrances and the “ВОКЗАЛ” (VOKZAL) sign on the roof are visible. The station square in front features buses, passenger cars, and pedestrians, indicating active traffic and the transport function of the hub.

The right side of the postcard shows a park pavilion amidst lush trees and well-maintained lawns. This classical-style pavilion with columns is part of Frunze Park, one of the city’s primary recreational areas.

Historical note

Yevpatoria railway station opened in 1915. The modern station building, as depicted on the postcard, was constructed in 1953, replacing earlier structures. It became a significant element of the city’s architectural ensemble, reflecting Yevpatoria’s post-war development and resort status.

Frunze Park, one of Yevpatoria’s oldest and largest parks, was established in the early 20th century. Named after Soviet military leader Mikhail Frunze, it evolved over time into a key recreational area for residents and resort visitors, featuring numerous avenues, attractions, and pavilions.

Present day

Yevpatoria Railway Station continues to function as an important transport hub, although its role and traffic intensity may have changed after 2014. The architectural appearance of the building has largely been preserved, remaining a recognizable feature of the city.

Frunze Park remains a central recreational area in Yevpatoria today. The pavilion shown on the postcard still stands in the park, serving as a place for relaxation and strolls, and the park itself continues to be a popular venue for cultural events and leisure activities.
