Historical note
The “Zakarpattia” hotel complex (originally part of the “Intourist” network) was constructed in the late 1970s and officially opened in 1979. The project was co-designed by Soviet and Hungarian specialists, and the construction was carried out by a Hungarian building enterprise. Built to accommodate foreign and domestic tourists visiting the Zakarpattia region, it was the largest and most comfortable hotel in the city at the time.
Present day
Today, the building continues to operate as a hotel under the name “Intourist-Zakarpattia”. While the exterior retains its original Soviet modernist architectural features, the interiors and signage have undergone partial reconstruction and commercial modernization.
