Historical note
The new Odessa Marine Passenger Terminal complex was commissioned in 1968. The modernist glass-and-concrete structure and its overpass were designed by architects V. Golovin and V. Kreimer. It became a key symbol of Soviet Odesa, replacing older port facilities and allowing the harbor to accommodate major cruise liners.
Present day
In subsequent decades, the marine terminal underwent several renovations, including the construction of the Odessa Hotel on the pier. Due to recent military actions, the port infrastructure and terminal building sustained significant damage, yet the site remains a vital historical and architectural landmark of the city.
