Historical note
The “Universytet” metro station opened on November 6, 1960, as part of the first stage of the Kyiv Metro. Designed as a circular park pavilion with a reinforced concrete dome, the vestibule was thoughtfully integrated into the landscape of the A.V. Fomin Botanical Garden along Taras Shevchenko Boulevard.
Present day
Today, the “Universytet” station remains active on the Sviatoshynsko-Brovarska line. The exterior of the vestibule, designated as a local architectural monument, has retained its original mid-century modern design.
