What is shown on the postcard
The foreground shows the busy Kalinin Square (now Maidan Nezalezhnosti) with pedestrians, MTB-82 trolleybuses, and buses. In the center is the four-story Conservatoire building featuring a Corinthian colonnade on the third and fourth floors, resting on a ground-level arcade.
Historical note

Present day
Today, the building houses the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine. The square in front of it has been renamed Maidan Nezalezhnosti, and the surrounding area underwent major redevelopments in the late 20th and early 21st centuries.
