What is shown on the postcard

The image shows the landscaped territory of the Myrhorod resort. On the left is a three-story modernist dormitory building of a rectangular shape with rows of glazed balconies. On the right stands a historic one-story building featuring a portico, columns, and a decorative roof tower. Paved asphalt pathways, lawns, and park benches are laid out in front of the buildings. Pedestrians in summer clothing are seen in the foreground and midground.

Historical note

The Myrhorod resort was established in 1917 through the initiative of physician Ivan Zubkovsky, who discovered the therapeutic properties of the local mineral water. The first bathhouse buildings were designed by the prominent Ukrainian architect Opanas Slastion in the Ukrainian Art Nouveau style with classical elements. During the Soviet era, particularly in the 1960s and 1970s, the resort expanded significantly with the construction of new multi-story dormitory buildings and medical facilities.

Present day

Today, the resort complex operates as “Myrhorodkurort” and comprises several specialized sanatoriums. The historic park area with its mature trees and historic clinic buildings has been preserved, while the Soviet-era dormitory buildings have been modernized to meet contemporary standards of comfort.
