Historical note
The Dniprodzerzhynsk Nitrogen Fertilizer Plant was established in the 1930s to supply mineral fertilizers to the agricultural sector. In the post-war era, the factory underwent major reconstruction, expanding its capacity to produce ammonia, urea, and mineral fertilizers. By the 1970s, it operated as a major Soviet enterprise known as the ‘Azot’ Production Association.
Present day
Today, the enterprise is known as JSC ‘DniproAzot’ (PrAT ‘DniproAzot’). It remains one of the critical chemical plants in Ukraine, specializing in the manufacture of ammonia, urea, caustic soda, liquid chlorine, and hydrochloric acid, and playing a vital role in water treatment supply.
