Historical note
This unique arched bridge, popularly known as the ‘Bridge of Love’, was constructed at the turn of the 1970s during the development of Jubilee Park (now Sosnovyi Bor Park). The structure was designed by the Ukrhidroproekt Institute. The bridge connected the park zone with the grounds of the Soviet ‘Tourist’ Hotel, providing a safe crossing over a steep ravine more than 25 meters deep.
Present day
Today, the bridge remains one of Cherkasy’s primary landmarks and its most popular romantic spot. The structure has preserved its original architectural form and undergoes regular maintenance, while the Sosnovyi Bor Park itself is protected as a national-level monument of landscape art.
