Historical note
The Kyiv Palace of Sports was officially opened on December 9, 1960. The building was designed by architects Mykhailo Hrechyna and Oleksiy Zavarov. At the time of its completion, it was one of the largest indoor sports and concert venues in the USSR, designed to host competitions in dozens of sports and large-scale public events.
Present day
Today, the Palace of Sports continues to operate for its original purpose, remaining Ukraine’s largest indoor sports and concert arena. The venue regularly hosts international sports competitions, trade exhibitions, and concerts by global performers.
