To the left, an asphalt road curves with pedestrians walking on the sidewalk, while to the right, a driveway with Soviet-era passenger cars is visible.
Historical note
The building was erected at the end of the 19th century (around 1892) as the mansion of Cherkasy entrepreneur Afanasiy Shcherbyna. During the Soviet period, it housed various state institutions, including the local land administration, county executive committee, and the city party committee. In 1970, the building was adapted into the city Wedding Palace, becoming one of the key architectural landmarks of Cherkasy.
Present day
Currently, the former Shcherbyna Mansion retains its status as the Wedding Palace (civil registry office). The monument of local architectural heritage has been restored, and modern exterior illumination highlights the intricate relief details of the historical facade at night.
