What is shown on the postcard

Historical note

The museum building was constructed in 1883 according to the design of the architect Felix Gonsiorovsky, specifically for the Odesa Society of History and Antiquities. The museum is one of the oldest in the country, with its collections starting to form in the first half of the 19th century.

Present day

Today, the Odesa Archaeological Museum of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine continues to operate in this historic building. The architectural appearance of the structure and the surrounding area has been preserved, and the building is protected as an architectural monument of national significance.
