Historical note

The Monument to Taras Shevchenko in Odesa was officially unveiled in 1966 near the main entrance to the Central Park of Culture and Leisure, which bears his name. The monument was designed by Kyiv sculptors A. Belostotsky and O. Suprun, and architect H. Topuz.

Present day

Today, the monument retains its original appearance and serves as the central venue for official and public commemorative events dedicated to the Ukrainian poet in Odesa.
