Historical note

The monument to Nikolai Gogol in Poltava was designed by the sculptor Leonid Pozen. The bronze sculpture was cast in 1913, but due to World War I, subsequent revolutionary events, and administrative changes, the official unveiling took place only in 1934 at the intersection of Gogolya and Lenina (now Nebesnoi Sotni) streets.

Present day

Currently, the monument remains at its original location in the Gogol Square. It is classified as a monument of monumental art and local cultural heritage, serving as a landmark for tourists and literature enthusiasts.
