What is shown on the postcard

Historical note
The Mykilska Borshchahivka residential area was intensively developed starting in the late 1960s as a large housing estate on the western outskirts of Kyiv. In 1977, the first rapid tram line in the USSR was launched here, connecting Borshchahivka with the central railway station. The circular interchange at the intersection of today’s Lesia Kurbasa Avenue (then 50th Anniversary of October Avenue) and Hnata Yury Street became the district’s key engineering hub.
Present day
Today, the interchange retains its original transport function. The Hnata Yury rapid tram station was reconstructed in the late 2000s, receiving modern covered platforms. The Leipzig Cinema continues to operate, while the surrounding area has undergone dense commercial development with shopping pavilions and markets.
