Historical note
The building was constructed in the late 19th and early 20th centuries specifically for the Kyiv City Museum of Antiquities and Art. The facade design and construction supervision were managed by the prominent Kyiv architect Władysław Horodecki, while the sculptural work was executed by Elia Sala. By 1970, the institution was known as the State Museum of Ukrainian Fine Arts.

Today, the museum is known as the National Art Museum of Ukraine (NAMU). Located at 6 Mykhaila Hrushevskoho Street, the building preserves its historical neoclassical appearance and continues to house a premier collection of Ukrainian art.
