Historical note
Patsayev Street in Kirovohrad was named in honor of Soviet cosmonaut Viktor Patsayev, a native of the city, who tragically died in 1971 during the depressurization of the Soyuz 11 spacecraft. Intensive construction of this area with standardized high-rise panel buildings took place in the 1970s and 1980s as part of the city’s housing expansion.
