Historical note
The tank monument was erected in Khmelnytskyi in 1967 to honor the military units that liberated the city from Nazi occupation in March 1944 during the Proskurov-Chernovtsy Offensive. The monument was located at the intersection of Kamianetska and Proskurivskoho Pidpillia streets.
Present day
In October 2022, as part of decommunization and derussification efforts, the T-34 tank monument was dismantled. The tank itself was transferred to a museum for storage, and the stone pedestal was subsequently demolished. The site has since been cleared and landscaped.
