Historical note
The design and construction of the House of Trade took place during the 1960s–1980s (designed by architect V. Yezhov and others). The building became the central architectural landmark of the reconstructed Lvivska Square. The complex consists of a high-rise administrative tower and a wide podium, which originally housed large retail halls, exhibition spaces, and offices of the Ministry of Trade of the Ukrainian SSR.
Present day
Today, the building retains its original modernist appearance, serving as a prominent example of late Soviet architectural modernism in Kyiv. The high-rise tower and the adjacent podium currently house various state institutions, commercial offices, shops, and food establishments.
