What is shown on the postcard
The image shows the monumental facade of the House of Technology, built in the Soviet Classicist style. The central composition features a multi-tiered tower topped with a tall spire. The slogans “СЛАВА КПСС” (Glory to the CPSU) and “СЛАВА НАРОДУ” (Glory to the People) are mounted on the parapets of the side wings. Historical note
Construction of the House of Technology began in 1950 and was completed in 1953. The building was erected as a social, cultural, and scientific-technical center for coal mining industry workers of the Donbas region. It played a significant role in showcasing regional scientific and technical progress.
Present day
Today, the former House of Technology building on Krasna Square houses the M. Matusovsky Luhansk State Academy of Culture and Arts. The architectural structure remains largely preserved, though the Soviet slogans and symbols have been removed from the facade.
