Historical note
Mickiewicz Square (formerly Mariacka, earlier Ferdinand Square) is one of the central squares in Lviv. In the modern era, a historical copy of the Virgin Mary statue was restored to the fountain, returning it to its original sacred and architectural form. Mickiewicz Square remains a key transport and pedestrian hub of Lviv’s historic center.
