What is shown on the postcard
The postcard shows a two-story light-colored educational building decorated in a classical style. The Ukrainian inscription “КЕРАМІЧНИЙ ТЕХНІКУМ” (Ceramic Technical School) and a white bust of the writer Nikolai Gogol are featured above the central entrance. Statues are placed in decorative niches on either side of the central windows. In front of the building, there are flowerbeds, trees, benches, and groups of people in late 1970s attire.
Historical note
The Myrhorod Art and Industrial School (later reorganized into a technical school) was opened in 1896 to train specialists in artistic, industrial, pottery, and majolica production. Naming the institution after Nikolai Gogol emphasized its deep connection to the region’s cultural heritage.
Present day
Today, the institution operates as the Myrhorod Art and Industrial College, a branch of the Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava National Polytechnic University. The building is officially recognized as a local architectural monument.
