What is shown on the postcard

Historical note

The Kherson Central Department Store was opened in 1961 at the intersection of Ushakova Avenue and Mayakovsky Street. The building design was a standard layout for major Soviet shopping centers of that era, combining functionality, spacious sales areas, and extensive glass elements.

Present day

In the modern period, the building has retained its retail function, undergoing several interior and exterior renovations. While the facade has been partially altered with modern advertisements and commercial storefronts, the general structural shapes from the Soviet era remain recognizable.
