F. Maltsev) was founded in the late 19th century. The hospital grounds were originally designed as a well-planned garden city with extensive park zones and alleys to aid patient recovery. During the Soviet era, particularly in the 1950s, the greening of adjacent streets was actively maintained, and pyramidal poplars became a hallmark of Poltava’s suburban landscape.
Present day
Today, Shvedska Mohyla Street remains an important thoroughfare leading to the “Field of the Poltava Battle” State Historical and Cultural Reserve and local medical facilities. Many of the Soviet-era poplars have since been replaced or updated during municipal landscaping efforts in recent decades.
