This section holds two kinds of card. Some are actual wedding invitations handed or posted to guests: two copies of a card titled “Invitation” (1984) and an “Invitation to a Wedding” (1986). Others are greeting cards wishing the couple a happy wedding day, dated 1977 and 1981.
Three of the invitations are in Ukrainian rather than Russian: two titled “Zaproshuiemo na vesillia” (“We invite you to the wedding”, 1985 and 1986) and one “Zaproshennia na vesillia” (“Wedding invitation”, 1985). Seen next to the Russian-language cards, they show the same family occasion printed in two languages in the same years.
The section spans almost a decade, from 1977 to 1986, all within the late Soviet period. For collectors of vintage postcards and family-history researchers, even this small group allows a comparison of captions and formats across those years.
Where names, a date and a venue survive on the back, an invitation doubles as a small piece of a family’s own record.
