What is shown on the postcard

On both sides, multi-story residential and administrative buildings in the Stalinist Empire style rise, featuring decorative cornices, balustrades, and balconies. Several pedestrians are seen walking along the central pathway.
Historical note
Lenin Street in Minsk is one of the city’s central thoroughfares. During World War II, the historical buildings of the street (formerly Gubernatorskaya Street) were almost completely destroyed. In the late 1940s and 1950s, the street was significantly widened and rebuilt with monumental edifices designed by Soviet architects, turning it into a prime example of post-war ensemble planning.
Present day
Today, Lenin Street retains its architectural appearance from the mid-20th century. Most of the Stalinist-era buildings are registered on the State List of Historical and Cultural Values of the Republic of Belarus. While trees still line parts of the street, the layouts of sidewalks and green spaces have been altered during subsequent urban renovations.
