Historical note
The State Musical Comedy Theatre of the Belarusian SSR was founded in 1970, but it received its own dedicated building only in 1981. The project’s architects were O. Tryshchilo, A. Zaitsava, and L. Eroshina. The sculptural composition on the facade was created by L. Zdanevich. The building, constructed in the style of Soviet modernism, became a significant cultural landmark in Minsk and a center for the development of musical theatrical art in the republic.

Today, the theatre is known as the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theatre. It continues its activities as one of the country’s leading musical theatres. The building maintains its historical appearance, though it has undergone minor changes in its interiors and surrounding area.
