Historical note
The building was constructed in the 1930s during the Czechoslovak administration of Subcarpathian Rus as part of the Galago administrative district. The architecture represents classic interwar Czechoslovak functionalism, characterized by geometric simplicity, strip windows, and practical layout. After Transcarpathia became part of the Ukrainian SSR, the building was assigned to the newly established Uzhhorod State University (founded in 1945) for its medical faculty.
Present day
Today, the building continues to serve its original educational purpose, housing the Medical Faculty of Uzhhorod National University (UzhNU). The exterior remains largely preserved, while the Soviet ideological slogans have been removed from the roof.
