Historical note

The urban planning incorporated microdistrict concepts with spacious green buffer zones between the roadway and residential blocks.
Present day
In 2016, as part of decommunization, Friedrich Engels Street was renamed in honor of the Ukrainian political figure Viacheslava Chornovola. The architectural appearance of the five-story blocks remains largely unchanged, though the ground floors have been repurposed for modern shops and offices, and the adjacent public space has undergone partial redevelopment.
