Historical note
Sokyrna is a resort area in the Cherkasy Raion, situated in a pine forest on the banks of the Dnipro River. Following the creation of the Kremenchuk Reservoir in the late 1950s, this shoreline became a popular getaway for the residents of Cherkasy. Numerous recreation centers, health resorts, and summer camps for regional enterprises were established here.
Present day
Today, the village of Sokyrna retains its status as a recreation zone. The coast features active holiday resorts, country complexes, and private cottages, while the pine forest and sandy beaches remain highly popular for summer leisure and fishing.
