Historical note

The monument to Ivan Kotlyarevsky in Poltava was unveiled on August 30 (September 12), 1903. Funds for its construction were raised through voluntary public donations across Ukraine over several years. The bronze bust and three high-relief panels on the pedestal were created by sculptor Leonid Pozen, while the pedestal design was executed by architect Aleksandr Shirshov.

Present day

The monument successfully survived both World Wars and the Soviet era, remaining in its original state to this day. It is designated as a cultural heritage site of national importance in Ukraine and stands as one of the key landmarks in the historic center of Poltava.
