Historical note
The Cherkasy Medical School (at various times known as a technicum, college, and currently an academy) was founded in 1930. This educational building on the corner of Khreshchatyk and Komsomolska (now Ostafiy Dashkevych) streets was constructed during the Soviet era to provide modern classrooms and laboratories for the institution.
Present day
Today, this building houses the Cherkasy Medical Academy (the medical college was reorganized into an academy in 2016). The building’s exterior has generally preserved its Soviet modernist architectural features, with only minor alterations resulting from renovations and window replacements.
