Historical note
The T-34 tank monument was erected in Kherson to honor the Soviet soldiers who liberated the city from Nazi invaders in March 1944. The memorial tank No. 842 symbolizes the combat glory of the tank crews of the 2nd Guards Mechanized Corps. The monument was officially opened during the Soviet period at the intersection of Perekopska Street and the park area.
