What is shown on the postcard

Historical note
The public complex combining the “Turist” hotel and the “Mir” cinema was built in Lviv in the mid-1960s according to the designs of Soviet architects. It was one of the first large-scale modernist ensembles in the city located outside the historic center. The “Mir” cinema opened in 1965, featuring a hall designed for several hundred spectators and equipped with state-of-the-art wide-format projection equipment. The complex served both tourists and locals, becoming an important cultural hub in the southern part of Lviv.
Present day
In the post-Soviet period, the “Mir” cinema ceased regular film screenings under its original name. The premises changed tenants multiple times, being used for commercial and public purposes, and were eventually privatized. The “Turist” hotel building has retained its primary function and continues to host guests after undergoing several interior and exterior renovations. The overall architectural appearance of the modernist complex has partially changed due to commercial remodeling and signage.
