What is shown on the postcard

Historical note
The corner building, famously known as the Shcherbyna Mansion, was constructed in 1892 (or the early 20th century). During the Soviet era, it housed various administrative and party organizations. In 1970, the building was repurposed as the city’s Wedding Palace (Palace of Marriages), which was active at the time of this photograph in 1973.
Present day
Today, the historic structure is fully preserved, restored, and continues to serve as the local civil registry office (Wedding Palace). Uritskogo Street has been renamed Khreshchatyk Street, while Karla Marksa Street is now Sviatotroitska Street. It remains one of Cherkasy’s most recognizable architectural landmarks.
