Historical note
The institution traces its origins to the Kherson Zemstvo Agricultural School, founded in 1874. It was reorganized into an institute in 1918. During the Soviet era, it was named after Alexander Tsyurupa, a Soviet statesman who studied at the school in the late 19th century.
Present day
Today, the institution is known as the Kherson State Agrarian and Economic University. During the military actions in southern Ukraine, the university’s infrastructure and its historical building sustained damage.
