Historical note

The theatre building in Poltava was constructed in 1958 to replace the former venue destroyed during World War II. It became the city’s new cultural hub on Teatralna Square. The theatre is named after the prominent writer Nikolai Gogol.

Present day

Today, the building retains its historic appearance and functions as the Poltava Regional Academic Ukrainian Music and Drama Theatre named after M. Gogol. The site is recognized as a local architectural monument.
