What is shown on the postcard

Historical note

The Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren in Brest was constructed in 1951, designed by the prominent Soviet architect Georgy Zaborsky. It served as a key hub for youth extracurricular education. The Gorky Regional Library, established in 1940, occupied several temporary premises during the Soviet era before moving to a custom-built facility.

Present day

Today, the former Palace of Pioneers at 31 Budennogo Street remains well-preserved and functions as a regional state educational center for children and youth. The Gorky Regional Library has been operating from its spacious modernist building at 48 Boulevard of Cosmonauts since 1989.
