Historical note
The Magnolia Sanatorium was located on Frantsuzky (French) Boulevard, serving as a well-known health resort in the Odesa coastal area. The high-rise dormitory was erected in the late 1970s and early 1980s to accommodate tourists. The architecture reflects late Soviet modernism with dynamic, asymmetrical shapes designed for resort landscapes.
Present day
In the 2010s, the sanatorium ceased its original operations. The modernist dormitory building was subsequently demolished to make way for the construction of the modern residential complex Kandinsky Odessa Residence.
