Historical note
The Taras Shevchenko monument in Odesa was solemnly opened on April 30, 1966, near the main entrance to the central park of culture and recreation named after the poet (formerly Alexander Park). The authors of the monument were Kyiv sculptors A. Belostotsky and V. Suvorov, together with architect H. Kylymsky. The figure of the poet is cast in bronze.
Present day
Currently, the monument remains in its historical location in Shevchenko Park. It serves as a traditional venue for official ceremonies, cultural events, and floral tributes during national holidays in Ukraine.
