What is shown on the postcard

Historical note
The Potemkin Stairs were constructed between 1837 and 1841 based on a design by architect Francesco Boffo. Originally, they consisted of 200 steps; however, during port expansions, the eight lowest steps were covered. The staircase received its globally recognized name following Sergey Eisenstein’s famous film ‘Battleship Potemkin’.
Present day
The Potemkin Stairs remain a key architectural monument of national significance and one of Odesa’s main landmarks. The port infrastructure visible in the background has undergone significant modernization, including berth expansion and the construction of a new passenger terminal.
