What is shown on the postcard

The postcard shows the multi-figure bronze sculptural group of the “Eternally Alive” Memorial against a tall dark granite stele. The stele features a metal inscription in Russian reading “ВЕЧНО ЖИВЫМ” (To the Eternally Alive). The monument stands on a pedestal faced with granite tiles. Historical note

The “Eternally Alive” Memorial was inaugurated on September 28, 1973, marking the 30th anniversary of the liberation of Kremenchuk from Nazi occupation. It honors the Soviet soldiers, prisoners of war, and civilians who died during World War II. The complex was built on the territory of the former Nazi concentration camp Stalag 346, where tens of thousands of people were systematically murdered between 1941 and 1943.

Present day

Today, the memorial is preserved as a local historical monument. The surrounding park area is well-maintained, and it remains a key site for commemorative events dedicated to the victims of World War II.
