Historical note

The Lenin Monument on Teatralna Square in Voroshilovgrad was unveiled in 1967 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution. From 1970 to 1990, the city was named Voroshilovgrad. The square served as the primary socio-political center of the city for demonstrations and public events.
