Historical note
The House of Communication was constructed between 1953 and 1958 on the site of the former House of County Offices (early 19th-century classicism), which was destroyed during World War II. Architect D. S. Boichenko designed the new building in the style of Soviet Neoclassicism to harmonize with the historic architectural ensemble of Round Square.
Present day
Today, the building continues to serve its original purpose, housing the Poltava branch of JSC Ukrposhta (the Main Post Office). The architectural design of this structure, which is protected as a monument of national significance, remains largely intact.
